| | | This part of the project was a response to the sunken WWII munitions ship Richard Montgomery with its unstable load of live, explosive shells and the plethora of proscriptive signs on the seafront. The initial proposal transcribed the list of explosives remaining on the ship in the typeface Wingdings using road marking thermoplastic letters affixed to the stepped sea wall, recalling hieroglyphics inscribed on the surfaces of a ziggurat. The final installation used a poem by Ros Barber. | |
