A large new games room for a school in a sensitive downland setting was carefully grafted onto a group of listed former agricultural buildings. The forms and materials of the new building were carefully chosen to sit harmoniously with the existing building, in a contemporary idiom and without recourse to imitation of their style.
The existing buildings were converted to provide art and pottery studios.
