Within a walled garden in a small downland village, two small cottages have been carefully fitted into and between existing flint agricultural sheds and walls. The strong, simple timber forms of the new construction sit amongst the flintwork, reminiscent of functional agricultural construction and maintain the farm-like character of the site. Within, the cottages provide all the comforts of home. The sustainable construction makes use of locally sourced coppiced Sweet Chestnut for windows, doors and wall cladding. The cottages are available to let.
